Sea Fishing Tackle Evaluation: Abu Garcia Soron STX60 Reel

Tuesday 31 May 2011 @ 3:54 am

Over time, I’ve accrued a large compilation of sea fishing tackle. But don’t you think it’s funny that I always find myself reaching for the same few rods and reels on every occasion, regardless of the number of others I’ve got? If you’re anything like me, then you certainly enjoy stalking high quality fishing equipment nearly as much as the fish themselves. Whenever I am not out standing on a windy beach, casting hopefully in the ocean, you can be positive I am scouring catalogues and particularly the web for tackle which will improve my possibility of victory. Among my most preferred sea fishing reels is the Abu Garcia Soron STX60, and I would really like to reveal my ideas concerning this great piece of fishing tackle.

Essential Highlights of the Abu Garcia Soron STX60 Sea Fishing Reel

Although I typically tend not to think about a reel’s visual appeal, I do have to state that this fishing reel’s azure surface finish is rather stylish, yet intended to reject both corrosion and wear and tear. The paint is fairly thick and rubberised, something which I’m sure will help the fishing reel remain pristine, regardless of contact with wind, direct sun light and water. In addition , it seems to be quite chip and scratch tolerant. Abu promotes this as being a “tough” reel, and all this time, it has definitely lived up to this claim. I’m hard on my equipment, and the Soron STX80 unquestionably can hold up to it! The reel is manufactured out of an aluminium alloy called X-Craftic™, which is exceptionally light in weight and resistant to deterioration .. The Soron STX60 additionally has Abu’s famous Carbon Matrix® drag system that is very sleek and sound, without any of the pulling I have had from drag systems on some other fishing reels. The clutch without difficulty handles even the hugest fish and even the most persistent snare, yet another aspect I treasure.

More About the Abu Soron STX60 Reel

The handle on this fishing reel is a one-piece, secure, screw-in form which changes effortlessly for left- or right-handed retrieve. The STX60 will have a substantial feel, primarily a result of the exceptional structure along with the 11 HPCR® bearings. HPCR is short for “high precision corrosion resistant.” Also adding to the reel’s strong feel is the Duragear™ gearing system that is made from heavy-duty brass which is certainly extremely resistant to oxidation. The gears offer outstanding smoothness for both the cast and retrieve. Yet another main feature of this reel is Abu’s exclusive SuperLine™ spool system which eliminates spool slip if you are utilizing superline. The fishing reel incorporates a stainless steel main shaft, Abu’s trustworthy Everlast™ bail system, as well as instant anti-reverse.

 Regarding Abu Garcia

Abu Garcia is actually a Swedish-based business that has been serving the world’s anglers for generations. They test out their goods extensively, ensuring the superlative results that anglers have come to count upon. In Abu’s words: “We refuse to compromise on how we design, build and perfect Abu Garcia precision equipment. That’s why decades of experience and obsession for detail are the hallmarks of Abu Garcia.” I couldn’t agree more, and I am happy to offer the STX60 a prominent place in my sea fishing tackle box, and a rating: 4.5 of a potential 5 stars.
